ELEVATION GAIN: 457 meters DISTANCE: 6 km round trip Wes, Bohdi and I set out early Sunday morning for a hike up Mt. Indefatigable. The trail head starts at the North Interlakes Day Use Area, which is wedged between Upper & Lower Kananaski's Lakes. Though the official trail was closed (due to erosion and high bear activity), the trail is still easy to find. *IF you do plan on taking this trek, I would suggest to do so in the shoulder season when bear activity lessens. And as always, be bear aware.* The trail starts in the trees although you don't stay there for long. For most of the hike you are heading north along a ridge above Lower Kananaskis Lake. The trail eventually heads west into the trees where you continue to climb. Wes and I didn't make it all the way to the summit as we weren't equipped for the deep snow, and opted for a nice lunch with great views from a clearing in the trees. The distance and elevation above reflect approximately how far Wes and I got. Its further to the summit.
(*I am not going to make any comments about going further to the summit since we didn't make it that far.)
